BEIJING -- Beijing Municipal Education Commission has ordered safety checks in all kindergartens in the city, after an alleged case of child abuse.
Pre-schoolers at RYB Education New World kindergarten in Chaoyang district were reportedly pierced with needles and fed with unidentified pills by staff. Several parents raised issues online and reported their concerns to authorities late Wednesday, triggering a police investigation.
A commission spokesperson said Friday that they will investigate any activities that harm children's health and welfare in kindergartens and take effective measures to protect children's rights.
