7 key tasks mapped out for 2019 at economic meeting

The annual Central Economic Work Conference was held in Beijing from Dec 19 to 21, charting the course for the economy in 2019, a key year for the country to achieve its goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2020.

1. Promoting high-quality manufacturing development

The work agenda stressed unwavering efforts to build the country into a manufacturer of quality and the integration of advanced manufacturing and the modern service sector.

Manufacturing technological innovation capacity will be strengthened with the establishment of an open, coordinated and effective platform for the research and development of generic technology.
