BEIJING -- President Xi Jinping on Tuesday said Chinese youth of the new era should be grateful to the Party, the country, the society and the people.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at a gathering marking the centenary of the May Fourth Movement in Beijing.
He asked young people to nurture and practise core socialist values, and guard against wrong ideas such as money worship, hedonism, extreme individualism and historical nihilism.
