Homemade explosives can be exceptionally dangerous and cause injuries with lifelong consequences. Over the past five months, Hong Kong police have seized large quantities of homemade explosives and explosive materials. In one recent case, 137 liters of corrosive or flammable chemicals stored in 59 bottles were found at a popular picnic site near Shing Mun Reservoir.
