Shanghai will open new doors for highly skilled workers and college graduates from across the world via online recruitment on March 16, according to the city's human resources and social security bureau.

Over 70,000 jobs are expected to be on offer from more than 5,000 employers in Shanghai, including Global Fortune 500 companies, large State-owned enterprises, well-known foreign-funded companies, companies listed on the science and technology board, and high-tech companies.

Public Institutions such as universities, research institutes and hospitals will also offer job openings at the fair.

In light of the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic, the city's government is looking to take full advantage of online recruitment so that it can achieve its development goals in key industries and areas.

Job seekers can search for jobs on the official designated talent service website according to their preferences and conduct an online interview with HR.

Jobs are mainly in sectors such as integrated circuits, biomedicine and artificial intelligence and are being offered by at state-owned, private and foreign funded companies in Lin-gang Special Area, Hongqiao CBD, and all of Shanghai's 16 districts.

Employment-related institutions and government departments will go all-out to provide comprehensive employment services for online recruitment.

This year's spring campus recruitment is set to move online through cooperation with the city's employment department for college graduates.

The Shanghai government will issue a series of new supportive policies related to housing, training, innovation and entrepreneurship to attract high-end talents during the online recruitment period.

Talent service centers in the city will work to help international applicants deal with administrative procedures to work and live in Shanghai.

Human resources service institutions will play their part in the online talent market by connecting applicants with employers and will be awarded by the government for bringing in high-end talents.
