Local governments should support enterprises to make use of idle factories to expand production and employ more local rural migrant workers, Premier Li Keqiang said during his visit to Guizhou Beiyitong Technology Co Ltd in Tongren, Southwest China’s Guizhou province, on July 6.

Headquartered in Shenzhen, the company is a leading producer of mobile intelligent terminals with over 2,000 employees, including 1,592 newly-employed rural migrant workers during this year’s work and production resumption.

Informed that the company is about to expand its production and workforce, the Premier immediately asked for the local government to establish connections with it. He encouraged the company to employ more local rural migrant workers, adding that it can yield a win-win result of offering jobs to rural migrant workers and lowering production costs.

According to the Premier, stable employment helps build a bright future and creates opportunities for people to get rich. People’s government must put their well-being first. To ensure people’s well-being, it is equally essential for people to be as hard working as the increasing efforts made by local governments and enterprises, said the Premier, adding that Guizhou people can endure hardships and they are always willing to learn. With such good qualities and a better business environment, the Chinese government is more confident in ensuring employment and people’s well-being, Premier Li said.
