Industry expo covers ins and outs of parking

The 22nd China International Urban Parking Industry Expo 2020 will be held in Beijing from Nov 5 to 7, with various parking companies showcasing the latest technologies and services, ranging from smart parking solutions to new energy parking facilities.

The event will be hosted by China Parking System Manufacturers Association, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Construction Industry Branch, China Electricity Council Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Branch, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade electricity industry committee and Beijing Static Traffic Investment Operation Co Ltd.

Ming Yanhua, chairwoman of the China Parking System Manufacturers Association, said after years of development the event has now become the largest and most influential parking expo in China.

"Under the theme of smart city and 'smart sparking', this year's event is committed to promoting the healthy and high-quality development of the parking industry," she added.

Ding Hongtao, director of the science, technology and industrialization development center of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-rural Development, said parking difficulties are a prominent problem for cities that needs to be solved.

"Currently, the ministry is developing a research strategy for improving city quality and efficiency and accelerating new city construction, which includes various tasks such as promoting the coordinated development of smart cities and communities," Ding said. "The China International Urban Parking Industry Expo helps build an exchange platform covering the entire industrial chain of the parking industry, bringing together representative from parking-related companies, institutes and organizations."

Covering a total exhibition area of 20,000 square meters, the expo is expected to attract more than 50,000 visitors. Around 300 companies will display the industry's latest achievements, such as smart parking solutions, mechanical parking equipment and supporting product and parking financial services.

Several forums are planned during the event, covering topics related to internet-based smart parking, parking and charging, new infrastructure, charging piles and smart parking products.
