Beijing 2022 venues get green building certification

The 11 venues for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics have all received the certification for green construction, according to the Beijing municipal office of major projects.
Ding Jianming, deputy head of the office, said at present, all the venues for the Games in Beijing's Yanqing district have completed construction and passed the tests. The remaining seven venues which are not yet completed will also finish construction by the end of the year.
"All the venues will be 100 percent powered by green electricity and all the venues can be reached via public transportation," he said.
It will be a green Olympics and those green construction concepts, as well as the facilities, will become a reusable asset for the city, he said.
