Shenzhen reports one new COVID-19 case
Shenzhen in South China's Guangdong province detected a new confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 case on Monday, according to the local health commission.
The infected patient is a 30-year-old male customs officer working at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, responsible for epidemiological investigation of arrivals on international flights. On Monday, he showed a runny nose and low fever with a body temperature reaching 37.9 degrees. He then tested positive for the virus.
Previously, the man tested negative in a routine nucleic acid test on June 8.
He is under treatment at the Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen and his 87 close contacts have been put under medical observation.
His neighborhood has implemented closed-off management and all places that he had visited were disinfected.
