Construction of IFF conference center ready by March 2023

The main structure of an international conference center that will be the venue of the annual International Finance Forum, was roofed entirely on Tuesday in Guangzhou, the capital city of Guangdong province.

Located in the Nansha district of Guangzhou, the center is expected to be a landmark building in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with a total building area of about 248,400 square meters.

After the roofing work, the rest of the building will be constructed with the metal roof, steel structure, curtain wall, fine decoration and outdoor supporting facilities, according to the construction company, China Gezhouba Group Corporation, a core member of the China Energy Engineering Group Co Ltd.

With the shape of huge blooming kapok, the symbolic flower of Guangzhou, the main building of the center is to endure for 100 years.

After the completion of the construction by March 2023, the center will become a permanent site for the International Finance Forum, an independent, nonprofit, nongovernment organization founded in Beijing in 2003.

A long-standing, high-level platform for dialogue, communication and research in the financial world, this year's IFF is scheduled from Dec 3 to 5 in Guangzhou.
