Suzhou reports 8 positive tests

Suzhou, Jiangsu province, reported eight positive tests for COVID-19 on Monday morning, according to a news conference from the local government.
All eight cases, including seven confirmed and one asymptomatic case, have been sent to designated hospitals. The local center for disease control and prevention confirmed they contracted the Omicron variant.
The Suzhou government suspended opening day of kindergartens and elementary and middle schools. Shutdowns have also been imposed on other places including cinemas, bars and fitness clubs.
Shanghai's Subway Line 11, which connects the mega city to Suzhou's county-level city of Kunshan, has suspended operations for three stations in Kunshan to contain the virus.
