China still needs to adhere to its COVID-19 dynamic zero policy amid domestic outbreaks, as the epidemic has far-reaching consequences if left unchecked.
Liang Wannian, head of the National Health Commission's COVID-19 task force, made the remarks at a news conference in Shanghai on Sunday while addressing concerns over the policy's impact.
Liang also called for analysis of pandemic prevention and control measures for their long-term effects.
