Tianjin reported 32 confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday according to the municipal health commission.
The number brought the total from two rounds of citywide nucleic acid tests held Friday to Sunday up to 68.
A total of 217 people have tested positive since the city launched mass nucleic acid testing for its 13 million residents on May 15.
This round of the Omicron outbreak is thought to have been brought by contaminated cold chain goods in Dongli district, according to Tianjin Radio.
A total of 11 districts launched a new round of nucleic acid tests Monday and the city announced virus-hit areas will see more rounds of tests this week.
