Over half of Beijing's infected recovered or discharged
Beijing's two designated hospitals have accepted 1,534 COVID-19 patients as of 12 pm Monday since the latest outbreak began on April 22, and 848 have been discharged after recovery or released from quarantine, a senior official said at a news conference on Monday.
All patients during the ongoing outbreak were treated by Beijing Ditan Hospital and Xiaotangshan Hospital, said Wang Xiao'e, an official with the Beijing Health Commission.
"At present, 686 patients are still receiving medical treatment at hospital, among whom 105 are asymptomatic carriers, 493 have mild symptoms, 88 have normal symptoms and no patients are in critical condition," she said.
"Professional medical teams have been formed to provide different treatment plans for each individual."
To take good care of seniors and children, and because there were many family infection clusters during the outbreak, hospitals have provided one inpatient ward for each family.
Hospitals have paid close attention to patients' mood and are providing professional emotional guidance to ease their anxieties.
