Chinese leadership vaccinated against COVID-19
The leaders of the Communist Party of China and the government have all been vaccinated with domestic COVID-19 vaccines, a senior health official said on Saturday.
"This demonstrates that the leadership attaches great significance to the virus control work and has great confidence in the domestically developed COVID-19 vaccines," Zeng Yixin, vice-minister of the National Health Commission, said during a news conference.
Zeng added that all three vaccines developed domestically have obtained emergency use authorization from the World Health Organization, and over 100 countries have approved Chinese-made shots for public use.
He said that the leaders of more than 30 countries, including Turkey, Serbia, Cambodia and Chile, have been vaccinated with Chinese vaccines, which showed that the Chinese vaccines have gained wide recognition from the international community.
