Shanghai reports new COVID-19 cases
Shanghai reported one asymptomatic COVID-19 infection and one locally transmitted confirmed case outside its quarantined population on Wednesday, said the city's health commission at a news briefing.
The asymptomatic infection, 18, works in a hotel in Songjiang district and the confirmed case from Pudong New Area has mild symptoms, according to the commission.
By 4 pm Wednesday, all close contacts and secondary contacts of the cases have been identified and quarantined, with available testing results all being negative. The compound where the two cases live have been classified as high-risk zones, said the commission.
The commission said Shanghai will continue to implement strict COVID-19 prevention and control measures, especially in densely populated places including major business complexes and compounds.
