Ministry wants more jobs for construction workers

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has asked local authorities to create more jobs for construction workers and raise their incomes.

In a statement released to protect the rights of the workers, the ministry said that authorities should carry out work relief projects, lower the financial burdens on construction companies and help companies resume operations.

It also called for authorities to improve knowledge and skills by providing workers with training.

They should also see to it that construction companies should ensure safety by setting up sound management systems, carrying out safety training for workers and reducing code violations.

For workers no longer able to do their jobs, authorities should offer them training in other fields, and help them find jobs in areas that require less physical labor and pose fewer safety risks, such as sanitation and property management.

Yearly crackdown targets copyright infringement

China has begun a crackdown on the unauthorized use of art, music, anime, games, movies and television shows in the creation of non-fungible tokens and digital collections.

The move is part of the measures the government is taking to counter piracy and the infringement of copyright during the Jianwang 2022 campaign, the National Copyright Administration said in a statement.

The annual campaign, which was initially launched by the administration and other departments in 2005, focuses on copyright infringement in cyberspace.

This year's operation, which will end in November, will also target the unauthorized transmission and use of works via literature databases.

Authorities will also punish those who turn visual and audio pieces into short videos and those who post internet literature on websites, social media platforms, browsers and search engines without consent, as well as those who sell pirated products via livestreaming.

19 Chinese banks noted as systemically important

Nineteen banks have been listed as systemically important this year by the People's Bank of China and the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission.

The list, which was published on the commission's website on Friday, comprises six State-owned commercial banks, nine joint-stock commercial banks and four urban commercial banks.

They were categorized into five groups according to importance. No banks were placed in Group Five, the category of the highest systemic importance.

Group One consists of nine banks: China Minsheng Bank, China Everbright Bank, Ping An Bank, Huaxia Bank, the Bank of Ningbo, China Guangfa Bank, the Bank of Jiangsu, the Bank of Shanghai and the Bank of Beijing.

Group Two features three banks: China Citic Bank, the Postal Savings Bank of China and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank.

Group Three also consists of three banks: the Bank of Communications, China Merchants Bank and the Industrial Bank.

Group Four consists of the remaining banks, all of which are large, State-owned institutions: the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, the Bank of China, China Construction Bank and the Agricultural Bank of China.

Campaign launched to help graduates get employed

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security launched a national recruitment campaign earlier this month to help college graduates find jobs.

The campaign, which runs through Nov 11, consists of both online and offline recruitment events.

The ministry said it will organize recruitment tours in cities where there are many universities and large numbers of graduates, as well as in less-developed areas in western China and in regions hit hard by the COVID-19 epidemic.

The ministry has set up a channel for the campaign on its recruitment website, http://dzcs.newjobs.com.cn/, where companies can post vacancies and hold online recruitment fairs via livestreaming.
