ZTE launches new server products

Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE Corp launched on Thursday five types of server products with strong computing power, mass storage, and stability and reliability, as part of the company's broader push to bolster the digital transformation of various industries.

ZTE's G5 series servers have adopted the latest fourth-generation scalable processors of Intel Xeon, providing powerful computing power support, and can meet differentiated requirements in different application scenarios, such as artificial intelligence and supercomputing.

"With the rapid development of the digital economy, the computing power scale has also increased rapidly over recent years. ZTE has deployed its server and storage products in more than 40 countries and regions around the world, covering fields like communications, internet, finance, power, government and transportation," said Guo Shubo, vice-president of ZTE and general manager of server and storage product line at ZTE.

The company is committed to developing high-quality server and storage products, in an effort to facilitate the digital transformation of various industries and provide a stable and reliable computing infrastructure, Guo added.

China's total computing power scale now ranks second in the world, said the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. By the end of 2021, superlarge and large data centers in use exceeded 450 nationwide, while intelligent computing centers surpassed 20, the ministry said.

The market scale of China's computing power industry exceeded 1.5 trillion yuan ($222.8 billion) in 2021, with cloud computing surpassing 300 billion yuan and internet data center services over 150 billion yuan, said the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, a government think tank.
