Mainland travel groups allowed to return to HK, Macao
The Chinese mainland will allow travel agencies to resume organizing outbound and inbound group travel to Hong Kong and Macao beginning Monday, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said on Friday.
The ministry also said that the agencies will also be allowed to offer flight and hotel packages to tourists starting Monday, according to a notice.
Travel agencies were given permission to launch and promote travel products in line with the decision on Friday, the notice added.
The notice came after the State Council's Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism, the country's top COVID-19 response task force, said on Friday that the mainland will fully resume staff exchanges with Hong Kong and Macao and will scrap quota limitations between the mainland and the two regions from Monday.
