Village doctor treks mountain roads to help patients
In addition to seeing patients, Li provides regular follow-ups, health guidance and door-to-door medication delivery services.
Located in a mountainous area, Leyuan is sparsely populated and some villagers live in remote areas, requiring Li to walk several kilometers of mountain roads to get to their homes.
"With Li in the village, we are relieved," many villagers said.
With his knowledge and professionalism, Li has protected the health of three generations and is affectionately referred to as a "village health expert".
Li has wanted to be a doctor after wanting to relieve patients' suffering as a child, graduating from a local medical school in 1990.
Last December, Li was rated as a "Chinese Family Health Guardian", the only exemplary individual in Hubei province to be given that title. And this February, he was also selected as "a good Samaritan in Yichang".
