Shandong boosts travel efficiency amid business surge

Innovative measures have been implemented by the boundary inspection stations in East China's Shandong province to ensure smooth and efficient international travel, given the surge in business and tourism trips.

The Qingdao Airport border inspection station actively enhances research into new entry and exit procedures, submitting regular analysis reports to guide government oversight and management, as well as corporate development.

The Jinan border inspection station has strengthened communication with the cultural and tourism department, facilitating "individual clearance for dispersed groups" and promoting the revival and expansion of consumption.

The Yantai Airport station has upgraded intelligent customs clearance facilities and proactively disseminated information about dividend policies to enterprises and and airlines.

Consequently, the province's border inspection authorities have scrutinized over 12,000 aircraft sorties, more than 20,000 ships, and over 1.373 million passengers, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 95.7 percent, 5.6 percent, and 170.4 percent respectively.

International cargo and passenger shipping between the province and the Republic of Korea also resumed on Friday after nearly 1,300 days of hiatus due to the pandemic.
