Li calls on China, Mongolia to strengthen mutual trust and ties

Premier Li Qiang called on China and Mongolia on Thursday to consolidate mutual trust and strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields so as to provide greater momentum for each other's development and bring more benefits to their peoples.

Li made the remarks when meeting with Mongolian Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene on the sidelines of the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Noting that the two neighboring countries have shared close friendship and cooperation, Li said China is ready to work with Mongolia to implement the consensus of heads of state and always be the reliable and trustworthy good neighbor and good brother of each other.

The two sides should continue to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, consolidate existing achievements, plan for new growth, enhance cooperation in logistical connectivity, trade, economic and green development, and further expand common interests to achieve win-win results, he said.

The premier also said China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Mongolia within the SCO and other multilateral frameworks, better safeguard the common interests of the two countries and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Oyun-Erdene said his country firmly follows the one-China principle and is opposed to external interference in China's domestic affairs.

Mongolia is ready to work with China to continuously promote the Belt and Road cooperation, deepen ties in such areas as trade, railway and tourism, enhance coordination within multilateral frameworks so as to take bilateral ties to a higher level, he said.
