State Grid Anhui Electric Power marks milestone in Yangtze River project

On July 25, the first hoisting of the Yangtze River Crossing Tower of Anqing four 500 kV power transmission and transformation project was successfully completed, marking the official start of the project's Yangtze River tower assembly spanning the Yangtze River.

The crossing point on the North Bank of the Yangtze River crossing section of Anqing four 500 kV power transmission and transformation project is located in the west of the Anguang River embankment in Changfeng town, Anqing city, and the crossing point on the south bank is located in the southwest of Liyang village, Wusha town, Chizhou city. It is the throat node of the project and is called "the first crossing of Wanjiang River". After the completion of the crossing tower, the tower height is 347.5-meter, the span is 2,535-meter, and the main pipe of the tower is poured with concrete of 125.9-meter. It is the tower with the highest height, the longest internal span and the highest main pipe of the tower in Anhui.

During the preliminary exploration of the State Grid Anhui Electric Power Co, Ltd, it was found that 50 pile foundations in the south span had karst caves, the bedrock surface in the north span fluctuated greatly, and the depth into the rock was large. It is also the most complex crossing tower in Anhui province.

Since the start of construction, the State Grid Anhui Electric Power Construction Company has made overall planning on safety, quality and progress, strictly controlled key nodes of the project, led the organization of all participating units to plan, refine construction scheme in advance, strictly review work measures, strengthened pre control, solved new technical challenges brought by treatment of pile foundation caverns, and accumulated rich project management and construction experience for the construction of Anhui Power Grid. With the joint efforts of all participating units, the foundation construction of the Yangtze River crossing tower of the Project met the pre tower construction sequence transfer conditions before the Yangtze River flood season (Anqing section) in mid-July, the on-site engineering drawings, material supply and construction team met the construction requirements, and the tower assembly scheme passed expert review.

It is reported that Anqing four 500 kV power transmission and transformation project is a key construction project of Anhui power grid during the "14th Five-Year Plan", which is planned to be completed and put into operation in June 2025. After completion, it will add a river crossing channel for the southwest regional power grid in Anhui province, improve the power supply capacity and reliability of the power grid, and lay a solid foundation for the high-quality development of regional economy and society.
