CATL unveils e-bus battery with long service life

Contemporary Amperex Technology Co Ltd, the world's largest electric vehicle battery maker, announced its latest Tianxing B-series battery for electric buses on Friday.

The company said that the new battery extends the service life of new-energy buses to an impressive 15 years, or 1.5 million kilometers, while achieving the highest energy density for electric bus batteries at 175Wh/kg.

This new battery has already established partnerships with 13 clients and will be deployed across 80 different bus models, it said, adding that over 385,000 buses worldwide are powered by CATL batteries.
