On Oct 8, under the No 66 tower of the 220 kV II Zhiqin Line of the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company, power supply employees Wang Yong and Wang Mengtao were patrolling the power transmission lines. "The drone will patrol the power transmission lines according to the set waypoint information, which can greatly improve the effectiveness, accuracy and safety of the inspection work," they said. During the National Day holiday, they carried out special drone patrols on the "three spans" section of the power transmission lines in their jurisdiction every day.
Overhead transmission lines cross railways, highways and important transmission sections are called "three-span" sections, which are also the top priority in power grid security work. Timely discovery and rapid elimination of potential safety hazards are not only the key to ensure the safe and stable operation of transmission lines, but also directly related to the stable operation of high-speed railways and highways. According to statistics, there are 128 "three-span" sections of transmission lines and 383 towers under the jurisdiction of State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company.
Compared with traditional manual inspection methods, drone inspections show significant advantages. They not only greatly improve inspection efficiency, but their accuracy also provides a reliable basis for fault judgment. Since the beginning of this year, State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company has increased its use of drones to patrol transmission lines. Through multi-directional and three-dimensional inspections of tower bodies, line passages and safety protection areas, it has photographed, classified, registered and archived discovered hidden dangers, completed and improved special ledgers, implemented hidden danger management and rectification measures one by one, arranged rectification according to priority, and eliminated hidden dangers in a timely manner.
It is understood that the State Grid Jiaozuo Power Supply Company has checked 114 "three-span" sections this year, and found and eliminated two hidden dangers in time. The company will further improve the lean management level of the "three-span" lines, strengthen joint cooperation with railway and highway departments, shoulder the responsibility of equipment operation and maintenance, and lay a solid foundation for the safe operation of high-speed railways, highways and power transmission lines.
