New deep drilling rig delivered
China's Honghua Group, a leading global land drilling rig manufacturer under the Dongfang Electric Corporation, delivered the domestically developed 12,000-meter intelligent deep drilling rig in Guanghan, Deyang on Wednesday, which will soon be applied in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
Xinjiang is one of China's main areas for oil and gas production growth and serves as the largest strategic replacement zone for the petroleum and natural gas industry. The drilling rig, capable of achieving depths of 12,000 meters or more with autonomous operation, will help tackle the technical challenges of ultra-deep exploration and development in the region, Honghua Group said.
The rig boasts an ultra-strong load-bearing capacity, with a hook load capacity reaching 1,000 metric tons, far exceeding the industry standard of 900 tons. This is equivalent to lifting two fully loaded Boeing 747 airplanes, Honghua Group added.
The rig breaks through key technologies and features advanced visual recognition systems that enhance intelligent sensing capabilities, allowing the rig to safely perform autonomous operations in ultra-deep environments, it said.
