State Grid Quzhou Power Supply Company charges up online monitoring in Zhejiang

To achieve online monitoring of charging piles, State Grid Quzhou Power Supply Company carried out renovations on Oct 15 at the Changshan County Chengnan Bus Charging Station and the Chengdong New District Charging Station to finish the connection of the online monitoring device. These stations have become the first batch of new energy vehicle charging stations in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, that can be monitored.

Previously, individual charging piles within the charging stations could not have their charging status monitored online. With the release of relevant regulations, public charging piles will undergo more refined and intelligent big data supervision. In this regard, State Grid Corporation required comprehensive upgrading of company charging and shore power asset management, including the integration of public charging piles into online monitoring systems where charging deviations will trigger alerts.

State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power required the implementation of online monitoring of charging facility performance across the province, leveraging the data collection system to achieve lean management of charging facility assets. By utilizing existing data collection equipment and guide rail equipment with data collection and dual-mode communication capabilities, the company will locally connect charging facilities to the power information collection system. By installing guide rails at appropriate locations within direct current charging piles, the guide rails will collect internal DC meter data information from the charging piles through RS485, and concentrators will collect data from the guide rails and attached DC meters via power line communication channels.

In the future, State Grid Quzhou Power Supply Company will continue to advance the renovation work for the access of new energy vehicle charging stations, refining experiences and achievements, aiming to achieve a 100 percent coverage of operational charging facility access by the end of this year.
