AWARDS RELEASED

The 2024 Glory Star Awards of Global Hotels in Greater China, by the Global Hotels magazine, unveiled the winners in late November. Hotels from across China, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions, as well as Singapore and Malaysia, were nominated. The final winners were determined by industry experts, key opinion leaders, and enthusiastic voting by readers.

HERITAGE REOPENING

After a revamp, the Hotel Banov reopened on Dec 5 in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province. Built in 1910 by Russian tea merchants, who were brothers, the property has long stood as the earliest high-end apartment building in the city, and is of profound historical and cultural significance. Located in the heart of the historical urban landscape of Hankou in downtown Wuhan, the hotel has 45 guest rooms that inherit historical and Renaissance charm.

ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Four Seasons Hotel Suzhou lined up an array of activities to celebrate its first anniversary on Dec 12. In the realm of guest experiences, new STEAM courses integrating science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics have been introduced. DIY workshops such as wood carving, blue-dyeing and more are available, fueling guests' creativity and exploration.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTING

Shangri-La Dalian in Northeast China's Liaoning province hosted a Christmas lighting ceremony on Dec 6. During the event, a children's choir brought classic Christmas carols to the gala night, and the modern Christmas tree lights dazzled the eyes. There was also a special DIY Christmas gingerbread activity, as well as Santa Claus interacting with the guests. The hotel presented crafts made by children from the Dalian Little Dolphin Autism Care Center, and all proceeds from the charity sales will be donated to children at the center.

CULINARY DELIGHT

The W Shanghai — The Bund started offering a "Travel T Time" afternoon tea. Its innovative chef team has drawn inspiration from 10 destinations in the global W hotel landscape, and crafted five savory and five sweet treats, along with three specialty drinks, inviting guests to embark on a culinary journey around the world through delightful and enticing flavors for their taste buds.

PET SHOW

Fotografiska Museum Shanghai opened The Pet Show photography-focused exhibition on Dec 7. The exhibition, which is running until March 9, features more than 100 works by 24 artists from China and abroad. Through the show, the audience will have the opportunity to explore the role that furry and feathered friends have played in culture.
