'Macau Pass' makes HK-Macao dual-city journeys convenient, boosting GBA connectivity

Macau Pass - China T-Union, an mCard covering public transportation in over 300 cities in the Chinese mainland and applicable to nearly 30,000 terminal consumption scenarios in the Macao special administrative region, began to be officially accepted across Hong Kong's MTR system on March 22.

Cardholders can now seamlessly tap and ride on the MTR at "China T-Union" enabled stations in the Hong Kong special administrative region, skipping ticket queues and making cross-border travel more convenient.

This initiative significantly enhances the "hard connectivity" of infrastructure across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, further deepening regional integration and offering residents convenient travel options for dual-city journeys between Hong Kong and Macao.

Sun Ho, chairman and CEO of Macau Pass, said earlier that the mCard reflects a mission to promote smart city construction and assists in the integration of the Greater Bay Area.

Before using the "Macau Pass - China T-Union" mCard, users have to ensure that the RMB e-wallet has a minimum balance of 50 yuan ($7.04). The mCard is now widely accepted across public transportation networks in over 300 cities in the Chinese mainland, as well as in Hong Kong and Macao, ensuring seamless travel across these regions.

Macau Pass, a leading financial technology and payment services company that introduced mobile payment to Macao in 2015 and created the MPay app in 2018, contributes to the popularization of mobile payments and the construction of a smart city in Macao by providing contactless smart cards, e-wallets, and versatile electronic payment systems.
