Foreign Ministry condemns US VP's impolite words

Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Tuesday that it is surprising and sad to hear United States Vice President JD Vance say "such ignorant and impolite words".

His comments came after Vance in a recent interview said the US borrowed money from "Chinese peasants to buy the things those Chinese peasants manufacture" when discussing the current administration's foreign trade policies with China.

Regarding the position on Sino-US economic and trade relations, China has made it very clear, Lin told a daily press conference.
