Local tourism bolstered by State Grid's unwavering support

With the booming spring tourism, rural areas have become a popular choice for travelers. In recent days, the State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company in Zhejiang province has been promoting its steward-style service, providing safety guidance on electricity usage in the scenic rural accommodations of the mountain area and ensuring the development of the local tourism industry.

On April 7, employees of State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company visited the Lingnan Fuzhi Mountain Scenic Area in Shaoxing's Shangyu district to inspect the electricity equipment and distribution cabinets in the accommodations. They conducted a comprehensive check for hidden electrical hazards to ensure a reliable electricity supply for peak tourist periods. The considerate service has received praise from the accommodation providers and tourists.

"They come regularly because our electricity consumption is indeed quite high here, and we need them to maintain it. Otherwise, it would be troublesome if there were a power outage. However, such a situation has never occurred yet, which proved that they are doing a very good job," said Zhu Shiyu, the owner of the Dong Cheng Mountain Villa.

In recent years, State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company has aimed to create a full-coverage electrified scenic area by upgrading from pole-mounted transformers to box-type transformers, moving overhead power lines underground and expanding transformer capacity. Such efforts are significantly enhancing the power grid capacity in the area. Additionally, the area surrounding the scenic spot has established a five-kilometer charging circle, complemented by night lighting projects and the transformation of electric accommodations, in a bid to enhance ecological protection and tourist experiences at the same time.

Furthermore, the company has introduced the first plan for a demonstration area of shared prosperity in Zhejiang's power grid. It is commissioning the Lingnan 35-kilovolt substation, improving rural distribution network infrastructure and advancing rural power grid modernization and rural electrification levels.

"We have already built 15 new charging stations around the scenic area, capable of simultaneously charging 25 new energy vehicles. The effort has solved the charging difficulties for owners of new energy vehicles in the scenic area, trying to provide tourists with a convenient tourism service environment," said a staff member of State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company.

In the future, the company said it will continue to ensure the power supply for tourist areas, providing warm-hearted services to ensure that residents and tourists can enjoy a stable and safe electricity supply during the spring tourism season, offering high-quality electricity for the development of local tourism.
