County economy drives Guizhou's high-quality development

By adapting resources to benefit local industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, and commerce, the county economy in Southwest China's ?Guizhou? has surged, accounting for ?approximately 63 percent of the province's GDP in 2024.

Across the province, counties like ?Kaiyang, Xifeng, Weng'an, Fuquan, Yuping and Xingyi are experiencing much success in the development of the new energy battery and materials industries.

County-level industrialization serves as a critical driver of economic growth. Aligning with Guizhou's strategy to build ?six major industrial bases? and ?three distinctive pillar industries?, localities are refining their industrial focus, promoting specialized, differentiated, and clustered development. This approach has elevated the quality and scale of county-level industries, propelling breakthroughs in industrial growth.

As home to one of China's three major phosphate mines, ?Kaiyang county? prioritizes ?"refined exploitation of mineral resources", building a robust industrial chain around phosphorus. In 2024, its phosphorus and phosphorus processing industries achieved an output value of ?28.02 billion yuan ($3.81 billion)?, representing ?94.4 percent? of the county's total industrial output.

Guided by the ?"10 county-specific pilot projects" initiative, ?Guiyang City and Gui'an? New Area have prioritized reforms to enhance public welfare, delivering tangible benefits to residents.

Breaking geographical barriers and strengthening cross-regional collaboration are key to achieving ?complementary development and coordinated growth? as well as ensuring urban and rural residents share in development gains. By fostering synergies between regional strengths, Guizhou's rural areas are uplifting livelihoods and driving transformative progress.
