Inner Mongolia adds new canyon tourism flight route
Tourists can now visit the Laoniuwan Yellow River Grand Canyon, a national 5A-level tourist attraction in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, via a 30-minute flight from Hohhot, the regional capital.
From the air, visitors can admire the magnificent landscape where the Yellow River meets the Great Wall.
The recently opened short-distance transport route operates four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Departure from Hohhot is at 9:15 am, while the return flight from Qingshuihe Laoniuwan Airport departs at 10:15 am. A one-way flight takes only 30 minutes, replacing the previous three-hour ground journey.
During the initial launch period, tickets are available at a discounted price of 189 yuan ($26.29). Shuttle services are available upon arrival at Laoniuwan airport.
According to local authorities, the move aims to inject momentum into the regional economy.
