Shanghai Disney Resort to unveil new experiences for 9th-anniversary celebration
Visitors will be able to meet some of Pixar's characters, including Joy and Sadness, Red Panda Mei, Sulley and much more. Among them will be three new Pixar Pals, Carl Fredricksen, Bing Bong and Edna Mode, who made their Shanghai Disneyland debut earlier this month.
The resort will also introduce Stitch Space Base in Tomorrowland's open area, launching on June 26, Stitch Day. This area will become a Stitch-themed neighborhood showcasing elements of the blue koala-like alien and his friends.
In addition to having video chats with Experiment 626 through Space Chat with Stitch and having themed shopping and dining experiences at Intergalactic Imports and Star Trail Snacks, beginning June 26, visitors will also have the chance to meet Stitch, Lilo or Angel randomly at Galaxy Gathering.
Adventure Isle will debut the Junior Explorers Camp on June 16, transforming the former Excavation Site into an outdoor play area themed around three distinct natural environments inspired by The Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Up. Young visitors can challenge themselves on rope courses, climbing towers and slides and stairs challenges.
Looking ahead, Shanghai Disney Resort continues its expansion plans with construction already underway for its 9th themed land featuring Spider-Man, while work progresses on the resort's third themed hotel.
