In Dainan town, Taizhou city, Jiangsu province, known as the "Hometown of Stainless Steel" nationwide, a giant grab is efficiently picking up recycled stainless steel raw materials in a factory workshop. These waste materials undergo advanced processes such as automated sorting, high-temperature smelting, continuous casting and rolling, to finally transform it into high-value-added stainless steel coil plates and profiles.
As the largest distribution center for stainless steel products and a highland for circular economy industries in China, Dainan town has attracted over a thousand enterprises, with over ten thousand product categories. It has formed a complete industrial chain from recycling, smelting to deep processing. The national-level stainless steel products quality supervision and inspection center provides solid support for the green and sustainable development of the industry.
Electricity serves as the core engine driving the efficient operation of this hundred-billion-level green industrial chain. In recent years, State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company has made overall planning and continuously increased investment in power grid upgrading, with a cumulative investment of 360 million yuan in distribution and rural power grid projects, and the reconstruction of 288 kilometers of distribution and rural power grid lines. In 2024, the 110 kilovolt Huarun new energy storage power station, which was key promoted by the company, was successfully connected to the grid in Dainan, marking the official completion of a modern green energy system with multi-energy complementarity of "wind power, photovoltaic, and energy storage" in this region. The comprehensive carrying capacity of the upgraded power grid has been significantly improved and the intelligence level and power supply reliability rate has reached 99.9935 percent, providing strong green and smart power support for the green and high-end transformation of the stainless steel industry.
The State Grid Taizhou Power Supply Company has also deepened innovations in service models. Since 2024, the company has carried out a special "Power Supply + Energy Efficiency Service" campaign, forming professional teams to go deep into the Dainan industrial park and provide customized "energy efficiency diagnosis" for key stainless steel enterprises. By using big data analysis from advanced power consumption information collection systems and infrared thermal imaging detection technology, it has tailored detailed Comprehensive Energy Efficiency Analysis Reports for enterprises, accurately identified energy consumption "pain points", and provided optimization solutions. At present, more than 50 stainless steel enterprises in Dainan town have enjoyed this professional energy efficiency improvement service, effectively helping enterprises reduce costs and increase efficiency, as well as save energy and reduce emissions.
