State Grid Jiaxing optimizes carbon asset management for cement industry

State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company has helped Zhejiang Xindu Cement Co Ltd complete the signing of the first carbon asset management service agreement in the cement industry within the system, marking another major breakthrough in carbon management services in Jiaxing city of Zhejiang province.

As the world's largest cement producer, China accounts for 57 percent of global cement output, with the cement industry contributing 13.5 percent of the country's total carbon emissions. This makes cement production a high-energy-consuming and high-emission industry.

Zhejiang Xindu Cement Co Ltd, the first rotary kiln cement producer in Jiaxing and a national high-tech enterprise, has an annual production capacity of 7 million tons.
