Xu also noted the station's environmental benefits: saving 117,000 metric tons of standard coal and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 305,000 tons annually, equivalent to planting 1.7 million trees.
The project adheres to eco-friendly principles. The lower reservoir utilizes natural rivers to reduce excavation, it was constructed with zero wastewater and waste discharge, and the dam is built with stones from the reservoir excavation, truly taking from and giving back to nature, according to the company.
