Multi-pronged measures in Zhoukou meet summer heat test

Facing the most extreme high temperatures in years, State Grid Zhoukou Power Supply Company has deployed city-wide measures for the ten counties and districts under its jurisdiction to ensure the safeguarding of residential power and grid stability.

A detailed action plan has been drafted and a coordinated city–county, cross-disciplinary task-force mechanism has been activated to ensure safe grid operation and keep residents cool during the summer heat.

Shangshui County Company has adopted a "three-front" approach to build a solid electricity barrier. In response to high temperature and high load, the company is simultaneously prioritizing the main grid, the distribution network, and customer service. From July 10 to 16, the main-grid operation and maintenance teams completed tap-changer adjustments on six substations and promptly commissioned capacitor banks, effectively improving voltage quality and grid support capability. On the distribution side, the company is adhering to the principle that "no outage is the best service", making full use of low-load periods to promote live-line work and minimize the impact of maintenance on customers. On the service side, 12 rapid-response teams entered communities and enterprises to promote safe electricity practices and encourage the use of the "e-Hand" app for online services, guiding more than 30 industrial enterprises to shift production to off-peak hours.

Fugou County Company has launched a "six-dimensional" campaign, demonstrating iron-army commitment. Centered on O&M, dispatch, planning, marketing, Party building and materials, the company initiated the "six priorities" battle. From July 10 to 16, 14 special transmission patrols and 15 precise load transfers alleviated overload risks; 21 distribution faults were repaired at various times of night and day, with over 80 percent resolved through live-line work. Marketing staff, together with the Jiao Yulu Communist Party member service team, worked on four fronts — heat-relief power supply, drought-relief irrigation, safety publicity and public-opinion guidance. Party members took the lead in solving more than 70 customer problems, comprehensively upgrading the residential electricity experience. After repair crews restored power for an elderly resident surnamed Zhang in 40 C heat, he said, "The power-service iron army lives up to its name. With the air-conditioning back on, we can finally sleep."

State Grid Zhoukou Power Supply Company has leveraged scientific coordination and precise resource allocation to drive efficient city–county linkage. During the high-temperature, high-load period, the city-wide grid has remained safe and stable, residential power across ten counties and districts has been uninterrupted, and industrial production has been unaffected.
