State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company: Multiple measures to ensure flood-season power grid security

On July 22, operations and maintenance personnel from State Grid Sanmenxia Power Supply Company conducted a flood-prevention risk inspection at the 220 kV substation in Lushi county, Sanmenxia city, Henan province, to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation during the flood season.

With the flood season now in full swing and heavy rainfall events becoming increasingly frequent, the company has reinforced its preparedness and taken proactive measures across four key dimensions—equipment patrol, hazard elimination, emergency readiness, and livelihood protection—to create a robust flood-protection safety net for the power grid.

The intensity of line and substation inspections has been increased, with extra patrols scheduled for geologically vulnerable areas and critical grid nodes.

Foundations of transmission towers in erosion-prone areas and substation perimeter walls are being reinforced in advance, so hazards are identified and resolved early.

A flood-control system has been strengthened by establishing an early-warning linkage mechanism with emergency-management and meteorological authorities; flood-prevention and large-scale blackout emergency plans have been updated; targeted drills have been carried out; and dedicated repair teams have been formed with adequate materials and equipment to ensure timely, rapid, and effective response to any contingency.

The company also proactively reaches out to key users such as hospitals, supermarkets, and residential communities, helping them inspect internal power facilities for flood risks and offering professional guidance and technical services to guarantee uninterrupted power for local residents and businesses.
