State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company ensures power supply during summer vacation

On July 22, the State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company and China Railway Nanjing Power Supply Section conducted joint power supply guarantee works in preparation for the summer travel rush. They comprehensively inspected key power lines supplying electricity to the railway system in Jintan district, Changzhou city, Jiangsu province, and formulated emergency repair plans to ensure the safety of railway power supply during summer.

With the sharp increase in student and tourist passenger flows in July, railway transportation has entered a peak period, with both passenger and freight volumes, as well as electricity load in the Jintan area continuing to rise. To ensure the reliable operation of railway power equipment and facilitate smooth and satisfying travel for passengers, State Grid Changzhou Power Supply Company has carried out more than 20 special inspections on relevant transmission line corridors, promptly eliminating foreign object risks, conducted comprehensive measurements and inspections on the tightness of tower bolts, grounding resistance, and other aspects to prevent adverse weather and other factors from affecting line safety. Meanwhile, the local power supply department has collaborated with the railway department to monitor power lines that cross over railways, ensuring zero-defects. Both parties have established a joint system for summer travel rush power supply guarantee and a rapid response mechanism for emergency repairs. They have formulated repair plans for possible faults to maximize the efficiency of power supply recovery and minimize the impact.

In addition to the increased demand for railway power supply this summer, with the continuous rise in temperature, the load from household appliances such as air conditioners has become the main source of electricity consumption, increasing the accompanying risk of fire hazards. To support fire safety, the local power supply department has carried out safety inspections on electricity usage in conjunction with the fire department. They have also conducted in-depth exchanges on how to strengthen power guarantee and improve the efficiency of emergency response coordination under extreme weather conditions, further strengthening the safety protection network.
