Reality show delves into modern mother-daughter relations

The second season of the reality show Like Mother, Like Daughter, which brought together four pairs of mothers and daughters at different life stages and with distinct relationship dynamics for a shared journey of travel, recently concluded on the streaming platform Mango TV.

In recent years, as more films and TV shows exploring women's issues have entered the public eye, the complexity and diversity of mother-daughter relationships have also made them a central narrative focus.

Against this backdrop, the show aims to explore modern family dynamics and delve into the differences between two generations of women.

This season's lineup includes actress Huang Shengyi and her mother Deng Chuanli, a former reporter turned writer, singer Li Jiage and her mother Bo Yongxia, Olympic gold medalist Chen Meng and her entrepreneur mother Pang Min, as well as pop idol Cheng Xiao and her mother Liang Aiqun, a singer herself.

Together, they traveled to the scenic countryside of Tengchong in Yunnan province, Southwest China, where they lived together for a period of time. During the trip, the four pairs grew closer, learning to rely on and understand each other more deeply.

Throughout its run, the show has focused on portraying the wisdom and love between two generations of women navigating intimate relationships.
