Concept car offers all-around look at BAIC's future designs

BAIC unveiled the Arcfox 77° concept car at the first BAIC Design Salon on Thursday, marking a key step in the brand's design-driven transformation.

This move is part of BAIC's three-year (2025-27) brand renewal plan, which aims to enhance public awareness and reputation, and position itself at the forefront of Chinese automotive groups.

Design is a pivotal force in this transformation, and the BAIC design team is committed to creating competitive products centered on user-centric values. By driving design innovation and aligning with the group's long-term vision, the brand is undergoing a comprehensive and innovative transformation to boost its strength and influence.

BAIC has leveraged its three major design centers in Beijing, Shanghai, and Turin to assemble outstanding talent. With an international perspective, rich experience, and superb skills, this team is dedicated to providing forward-looking design solutions for both the Chinese and global markets.

Anthony Lo, vice-president and chief design officer of BAIC Global Design, said that future competition in the automotive market will hinge on "design prowess", and the brand will achieve differentiation through design.

Drawing on his extensive career spanning Audi, GM, Renault, and Ford, Lo arrives with a rich reservoir of industry expertise and innovative design insights.

Lo explained BAIC's new ARC-FLOW design philosophy, with the Arcfox 77° concept car being the first tangible representation of this. As a forward-looking design showcase, the concept not only embodies future aesthetics but serves a strategic role in guiding the overall automotive design process.

The ARC-FLOW design philosophy is built on four pillars: Boundless Intelligence Sensation, which integrates the physical and digital worlds; Ultimate Efficiency, balancing efficiency and performance; Adaptive Comfort, dynamically adjusting to user needs and emotions; and Warm Embrace, infusing human warmth into every detail.?

In terms of exterior design, the Arcfox 77° concept car seamlessly blends modern aesthetics with aerodynamic efficiency. Its low-slung coupe-like profile is combined with the versatility of an MPV, creating a unique and functional look.?

For the interior, the concept car features a customizable and adaptable space. The all-scenario seating can be adjusted according to the user's mood, catering to various settings such as home, office, entertainment, and minimalist environments.?
