Expanding the rural charging network driving the summer boom in countryside tourism

As summer arrives, rural tourism is rapidly becoming a preferred getaway. This season, villages are luring travelers not only with breathtaking sceneries but also with freshly brewed coffee, village-level "BA" basketball tournaments, and a laid-back lifestyle—transforming the countryside into a dynamic, multifaceted destination. To support this surge, State Grid Jinhua Power Supply Company is accelerating the build-out and maintenance of charging infrastructure to ensure seamless, green travel for new energy vehicle (NEV) owners.

Anticipating the surge in rural summer travel, the company conducted a preemptive survey of key tourist villages, homestay clusters, and pastoral complexes. New charging points are being installed strategically, while existing stations undergo scheduled inspections and quick repairs. Priority is given to areas with high concentrations of guesthouses to prevent overloads during peak demand. Field teams are working closely with site managers to gather real-time power requirements and deliver targeted technical guidance, guaranteeing reliable service throughout the high season.

"I used to worry about running out of battery during rural trips," said a NEV driver visiting the "Jiangnan First Village" scenic area. "Now there's a charger right at the village entrance. In thirty minutes, I can add more than half a charge—enough to tour the orchard, enjoy a farmhouse lunch, and leave with a full battery."

Guided by the principles of "moderate advance, balanced siting, and intelligent efficiency", the company is creating a "ten-minute charging service circle" within a 5 km radius of every township. Priority sites include rural transport hubs and flagship scenic areas. In more remote locations, new feeders have been added to guarantee "full-grid power" and support the region's green rural tourism industry.
