Kenvue strengthens collaboration with Meituan Health to tap instant health retail market
Kenvue China, the Chinese arm of United States-based consumer health company Kenvue Inc, and Meituan Health, a business unit of Chinese on-demand delivery service provider Meituan, announced an upgraded strategic partnership in Beijing earlier this week.
Building on six years of cooperation, the two companies will further integrate Kenvue's innovation and brand strengths with Meituan Health's digital and retail service capabilities to explore the fast-growing instant health retail market in China and offer consumers more diverse and convenient health solutions.
Gift Arpaporn Samabhandhu, president of Kenvue China, said that as China's economy continues to grow and residents' health awareness improves, demand for high-quality health products is increasing, driving the industry to accelerate innovation and upgrade products and services.
According to Kenvue's global consumer trends report, Chinese consumers place strong emphasis on personal care, with self-health management emerging as a key factor behind the enhanced strategic cooperation between the two companies.
"As a global company focused on consumer health, Kenvue always stands at the forefront of responding to consumer needs. We are committed to realizing the extraordinary power of everyday care through science-based products," said Samabhandhu.
Li Xiaohui, general manager of Meituan Health, noted that the platform's user base has expanded rapidly in recent years, with health consumption scenarios becoming more diversified and demand for personalized services growing steadily.
Li said in this context, the scope of cooperation between Meituan Health and Kenvue has gradually expanded to include more diversified health services, meeting users' varied health needs.
"Looking ahead, we will join hands with Kenvue to deepen cooperation in areas such as health category penetration and marketing model innovation, further unlocking the immense potential of the health and wellness market," he added.
Guo Xin, a marketing professor at Beijing Technology and Business University, said that as the Healthy China 2030 strategy gathers pace, the nation's healthcare sector—supported by favorable policies and international cooperation—is evolving from a follower to a global leader in innovation.
Since the start of their collaboration, Kenvue and Meituan Health have achieved notable progress in promoting new product growth and expanding into lower-tier markets.
In terms of product development, the two companies have used digital tools to improve the precision of product distribution. Their joint initiatives now cover more than 100,000 pharmacies across lower-tier cities, helping to deliver high-quality health products to a broader consumer base.
