China Eastern launches all-cargo flight between Shanghai and Paris
A direct all-cargo air route linking Shanghai in East China and Paris, France, was launched on Thursday by Eastern Air Logistics Co, the freight unit of China Eastern Air Holding Co Ltd, according to the Shanghai-based carrier.
The route establishes a vital new link between China and France, which is expected to become a driving force for deepening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, as well as for the coordinated development of industrial and supply chains across Asia and Europe, according to China Eastern.
Operating three round trips a week, the Shanghai–Paris flight will primarily carry machinery, equipment, and apparel outbound from China, and mostly chemicals and raw materials on the return leg from Paris. Launching against the backdrop of rising Chinese air cargo exports to France and steady imports over the past few years, the route is expected to significantly boost overall logistics efficiency between China and Europe.
It is worth noting that China Eastern's more than two decades of experience operating passenger flights between Shanghai and Paris have laid a solid foundation for the new air cargo route.
