As a highlight of the city's annual brand initiative, "Esports Fuzhou 2025", the "Valorant Year-End Competitive Party" is being held from Dec 18 to 28 at the Fuzhou Gymnasium.
For the first time, Fuzhou welcomed international teams, with some traveling over 8,000 kilometers to compete. Six international teams joined top qualifiers from five national tracks to vie for the annual championship. Fuzhou's own NOVA team attracted widespread attention with its outstanding performance.
Breaking away from traditional formats, the event creatively combined esports IPs with city landmarks and cultural symbols. This innovative approach transformed online interest into offline engagement, encouraging visits, hands-on experiences and consumption, effectively extending the cultural and tourism value chain.
"Hosting this event marks a significant step for Fuzhou in promoting the coexistence and mutual growth of esports and the city," according to the event organizer. "This competition is not only a year-end celebration for esports enthusiasts worldwide but also a strategic initiative for Fuzhou to leverage digital culture, stimulate the consumer market, upgrade industrial structure and enhance the city's brand influence."
