One year after the Sudan I incident, international food producer Heinz is suffering from another credit crisis after the news came out that non-approved genetically engineered rice was detected in the company's baby rice cereal. In a recent business trip to Guangzhou, Heinz China's newly appointed CEO Donald Gadsden said that up to now, no genetically engineered elements were found in the company's products. Investors have made money from almost all new listings so far this year on their first trading day and the same happened yesterday also. Shares in China National Building Material (CNBM), the largest building resources supplier on the mainland, surged 20 per cent to HK$3.3 on its trading debut, against its offering price of HK$2.75 per share.
