Co-existence, not containment

The only way to avoid a repeat of what happened between Germany and the rest of Europe one hundred years ago or between Sparta and Athens is for the great powers to respect each other rather than making the other your enemy and for them to learn to co-exist and grow together rather than one trying to contain or destroy the other.
