Public welfare has 'a long way to go'

"Even though we have made great achievements in the development of public welfare in China, we still have a long way to go," senior advisor Zheng Wantong told the second International CEO Roundtable of Chinese and Foreign Multinational Corporations yesterday.

"Compared to the rapid economic development in the country and the progress in this field in other countries, there is a lot for us to improve," Zheng, vice-chairman of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, said at a forum on harmonious development.

Zheng shared his opinions on how to facilitate development of social welfare in China and gave suggestions on how to balance development.
