Easy Talk: Marriage costs

As the cost of living goes up, so does the cost of getting married. A recent survey suggests that Shenzhen in Guangdong province is the most expensive city to get married in. Couples in Shenzhen spend an average of 2.08 million yuan, compared to 2.02 million yuan in Beijing and 2 million yuan in Shanghai. Why is so expensive to get married and should it be so expensive?
